Smart Systems Integration for Batteries

 Battery Live Talk Special Edition

Virtual Discussion | 31 March 2022 | 14.00 - 16.00 CEST

What will be addressed?

  • Short presentations on selected projects in the field of intelligent batteries and sensoring
  • How will the battery become smart? What are the future developments?
  • What is the battery telling us and how can we listen to it? What innovative sensors and algorithms can tell us about batteries?

Dr. Stefan Wolf will discuss the role of Smart Systems Integration for batteries with five experts. We invite you to dive into the latest developments of battery management systems with us. Let’s discover what that means for the future of batteries. Listen to insightful presentations and participate in our interactive panel discussion.

The battery is the central and most expensive component of every electric vehicles. Understanding the condition of a battery, or even better of each individual cell, is key to optimize the use of this battery. It gives you information on how to manage the battery, how to repair it and how to give it a second life in another application or how to recycle it professionally. But how can we get there? What are the challenges and limitations?

In this Battery Live Talk we will take you on a journey to the future of sensing technologies, algorithms and management systems for batteries.

Speakers

This Special Edition of the Battery Live Talk is jointly organised by the teams of the Accompanying Research for Battery Cell Production and EPoSS e.V. - European Association on Smart Systems Integration.

Accompanying Research for Battery Cell Production maximises the impact of the German contribution to the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) and supports the build-up of the European battery value chain. The accompanying research team offers knowledge transfer, community building and stakeholder dialogue activities on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The team is formed by VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH, TÜV Rheinland Consulting and the Technical University of Berlin.

EPoSS e.V. is an Industry Association on Smart Systems Integration, based in Berlin (Germany) and established in 2013 (https://www.smart-systems-integration.org). EPoSS is an industry-driven policy initiative, defining R&D and innovation needs as well as policy requirements related to Smart Systems Integration and integrated Micro- and Nanosystems. EPoSS brings together European private and public stakeholders in order to coordinate and to bundle efforts and to set-up sustainable structures for improving the competitiveness of European R&D on Smart Systems Technologies and their integration.
