The EU Battery Regulation has been in force since August 2023, setting ambitious targets for sustainability, transparency, and circularity in the battery sector. The EU battery sector is ready to comply but lacks the necessary legal clarity.

While some Delegated Acts — such as the one on calculating recycling efficiency — have already been adopted, others, including the crucial act on carbon footprint, are still under discussion and yet to be finalized. In addition, the fourth EU omnibus package has postponed the deadline for introducing due diligence schemas.

In this Battery Live Talk, we will explore the current status of the delegated legislation, focusing on the calculation of recycling efficiencies. We’ll discuss how digital tools like the Battery Passport can support compliance and what the delays of adoption mean for manufacturers and recyclers.

What are the risks and opportunities for Europe’s battery industry? And how can small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) be supported through the transition?

Join us to discuss the regulation, its impact, and digital solutions in a fast-evolving sector.

What will be addressed?:

1. How is a delegated act developed, and what are the key elements of the new act on calculating recycling efficiency?

2. What are the implications of delays in adopting certain acts — especially those related to the carbon footprint?

3. What is the timeline and status quo on delegated acts and standards for the Battery Passport?
