The countdown has begun. From 18 February 2027, the EU Battery Regulation will require a Digital Battery Passport for electric vehicle batteries, industrial batteries above 2 kWh and LMT batteries placed on the European market. More than a new compliance obligation, the Battery Passport is intended to become a cornerstone of a more transparent, sustainable and circular European battery value chain, enabling improved traceability, repair, second life and recycling while supporting market surveillance and informed purchasing decisions.
