In the field of battery cell production, our team is supporting the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in implementing the funding measures for the ‘Battery Cell Production Initiative’ in Germany, and is working to ensure the success of the measures and funded projects in the Accompanying Research for the funding programme.
Meet our team on Monday, 31 March, and Thursday, 03 April, at the stand of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) at Hannover Messe 2025.
You are especially invited to the BMWK live stage programme (hybrid event - online & in Hannover), with exciting battery talks!
31 March 2025 - Battery Programme
12:50-13:20 | Keynote Speech (German)
Funding Intitiative “Battery Cell Production” and the European Battery Ecosystem
The European battery industry is facing major challenges: geopolitical and regulatory uncertainties are making long-term planning difficult, while high location costs in Europe and overcapacities are putting pressure on the market. To become more competitive, European companies need to catch up in terms of operational experience, enter into collaborations or differentiate themselves through innovative products.
Speaker: Uwe Seidel, Programme Management Battery Cell production (VDI/VDE-IT)
13:20-14:20 | Panel Discussion (English)
Battery Passports: Benefit or Burden? How to create value from the innovative requirements
Tilmann Vahle and Sophie Herrmann from the Battery Pass consortium will feature key results of the project such as our Technical Guidance and Value Assessment. This will be followed by a symbolic handover of the completed project to Michael Kellner, State Secretary at the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK).
